ABOUT ME

Miriam Dowling was born in Dublin in 1982 and showed an interest in art and nature from a very young age. Miriam’s parents saw that she had talent for painting and drawing and sent her to oil painting classes from the age of 16. Miriam Graduated with a Degree in Fine art in Dunlaoghaire College of Art Design and Technology in 2003.

Miriam’s work is hugely influenced from her memories of her childhood holidays to the countryside and seaside. Her paintings capture the dramatic atmosphere of the Irish landscape and seascape. Through the medium of oils Miriam portrays a sense of place and movement using a mixture of different textures and colours. She Primarily focuses on encapsulating the atmospheric elements of the Irish countryside and seaside through all the seasons. Miriam has developed a distinct and recognisable style throughout her years of painting.
Miriam has taken part in numerous group and solo exhibitions throughout the years and embarked on her first international Solo show in Arthus Gallery in Brussels. Miriam’s work hangs as part of private collections across the world. Miriam’s work can also be viewed in The Doorway Gallery in Dublin and The Whitethorn Gallery Clifton.
